Many postural distortions begin early in life during the birthing process from birth trauma. Such trauma can come from having a c-section or, the use of forceps during the delivery; this can lead to the potential of the child having neck issues.
We are going one step further by having someone that is educated in the birthing process that can give you a natural way without drugs, without surgery, without medication, that can give you the opportunity to give birth the way that we are designed. Something that is all natural, that would be supportive and good for the babies overall health.
That is one of the reasons that we support Darcy Cresswell; a doula that can help aid you through the different stages of pregnancy. Let us be honest with you, there are no handbooks on birthing for us as parents so sometimes it’s scary. It’s good to have someone that has gone through this process many times before that is educated and can be your confidante, to help you be at ease about the process of the birth of your child. – Dr. Josh & Dr. Kari
What is a DOULA?
The Greek word "doula" means "woman caregiver". We now use the word to describe a trained and experienced labor companion who provides the woman and her husband or partner continuous emotional support, physical comfort and assistance in obtaining information before, during and just after child birth.

A postpartum doula provides care to a family with a newborn baby.
A birth doula...
... reconizes birth as a key life experience that the mother will remmember all her life.
... understands the phyiology of birth and the emotional needs of a woman in labor.
... assists the woman and her partner in preparing for and carrying out their plans for the birth.
... stays by the side of the laboring woman throughout the entire labor.
... provides emotional support, physical comfort measures, an objective viewpoint, and assistance to the woman getting the information she need to make good decisions.
... facilitates communication between the laboring woman, her partner and the clincal care providers.
... perceives her role as one who nurtures and protects the woman's memory of her birth experience.
The acceptance of doulas in maternity care is growing rapidly with the recognition of ther important contribution to the improved physical outcomes and emotional well-being of mothers and infants.
